My Real Fantasy

This is one of my poems that I'm really proud off. This was my first poem that I actually performed with. I actually perform this in the San Francisco Main Library for "The Japanese American Internment Camp Project" about two years ago...

This poem is about a character inside of the internment camp, and how his perception of the world change because of this experience. There is a lot of in depth things to say about this, but I don't feel like boring you guys with it. So here are the poem.

P.S. I should have post this up during Dr. Martin Luther King Birthday, I guess I forgot. It is better late then never right?

My Real Fantasy

Every night, the rain continuously falls.
The room sits in a majestic silence
that can’t be broken by any words.

The window is covered by sweats and dusts,
but I manage to get a glimpse
of a lifeless ray of the setting sun.

I wipe the dust from the windows,
moon light flashes my face,
welcoming me outside to the cold.

I look out and a coyote appears
and start singing to the moon.
The rain falls harder, with no end.

Still, I gaze out at the uncertain night,
the rain slowly forms into tears,
pelts the glass, shattering it twice.

I try to reach out, but the broken glass
stabs my hand as I struggle through,
and still I struggle until my hand is red.

My hand, now outside, is stained by my blood.
I wonder will it be worth it
just to feel the rain, so cold and dead.

The Sky

Woohoo, after more then month of procrastination and writer block, I have finally finish one of my poem that I have been putting off. Hope you all like it.

----------------
The Sky

I lay down by the tree and count, the red and yellow leaves.
They slowly fall to kiss the ground, while the river sleeps.
Beside the snoring river you can hear the lone reed plays.
The clouds that watch me fall asleep have nothing more to say.

I often hear the humming birds and wish instead they sing,
A symphony along the reed will surely lift my wing.
I watch the little waving grass, prancing beyond the hill,
And playing with the butterflies, oh now my heart is filled.

Then comes the silent crawling fog, the thunder starts to roam.
The night's last breath before the storm, the dewdrops start to foam.
I wake up from my sleep, in time to catch the rising sun.
And count again the falling leaves, another day is gone.

Free to Fall

-----------
Free to Fall

A violet ray marches across the sky,
spilling out the unspoken word.
The echo's lost in the silhouetted mountain.
When I reach out, the sun slowly sets.
The heart's beat broke the silence.

I watch the infinite city lights
mirroring the invisible stars.
My mind drifts and wanders, trying to find
the stars hidden in the abyss.
The heart's beat breaks the silence.

Everything around me becomes still.
The lifeless leaves with their fading green.
They've been cast off by their dying tree.
I could feel the leaves shimmering by.
The heart's beat snares the fleeing sun.

But the sun continues to set,
not a trace of the violet remains.
Eventually the moon pierces the sky
fully dressed in her silver gown.
The heart's beat, stops beating.
